Ames Ordinance, Iowa School of Rock, Emergency Services

KHOI reporter Jim Werbel speaks with Gary Youngberg of Ames Silversmithing and Judy Gilger of Gilger Designs, about an Ames city ordinance on merchants' purchases and sales of second hand goods. He also speaks with Commander Huff of the Ames City Police on the city's and law enforcement's perspective.

Alia Gurganus, a 12-year-old singer/musician, and Al Biela, founder and director of the Iowa School of Rock, describe the upcoming annual Summer concert for the yearly two-week crash course in the performance and business of music. The concert will be on July 10 and 11 at 7:30 at Zeke's, 3329 Lincoln Way, Ames.

Keith Morgan, the Story County Emergency Management Coordinator, stops in for a monthly safety check-in and explains how emergency services happen in Story County. Warning: there is flooding in the Eastern part of Story County along Highway 65 with upwards of a foot of water on the highway. Drivers are warned to use caution and avoid flooded roads as it is easy to underestimate the depth of flooding and cars are easy washed off the road.
