Veterans Day, Climate Action, Winter Safety

The show started with weekly Iowa news from Dennis Hart. Then we remembered Veterans Day with a conversation about PTSD and other challenges that veterans face. Ursula Reudenberg spoke with Barnet Devine, a counseling psychologist who works with veterans; Keith Putney, a lawyer and farm owner in Boone who is also a veteran of the Viet Nam War; and Tyler Paterson, the suicide prevention officer with the Veterans Administration in Iowa. The photo is of the Veterans Day Parade in Ames in 1949.

Pat Schlarbaum provided an update on climate action from Carolyn Raffesberger. Keith Morgan, from Story County Emergency Management, spoke about safety during the winter season, both in your car and at home. And of course, it is KHOI’s Fall membership drive, so we asked you to become a member!
