KHOI Community Mural: Art Walk Recap

June 22, 2017 - 2:43pm -- bekka

Building community through communication. There's many different styles of communication and visual art is just but one of them. Ames' Main Street Cultural District presented the annual Art Walk on June 2nd, 2017. KHOI participated by inviting the public to help create a canvas mural by communitcating through paint. We were honored to have had Redz Blues play outside the KHOI studio; they allowed dancers of every age a chance to communicate through movement.

This is the third year that KHOI has participated in the Art Walk and we now have three community murals to show for it. Each mural has been showcased during Ames' 4th of July Parade and this year we will have all three. Stop by 410 Douglas to have a look at what we've accomplished since the Art Walk!

If you wish to participate with KHOI in the Ames 4th of July Parade, please contact us at khoiradio@gmail.com. We can use your enthusiasm and spirit to help carry banners, murals, and radios in our first ever Star Spangled Band!

Many thanks to KHOI Photographer Elena Anast for taking these photos!

See you again on the radio!
