Sustainability, Education, and Puppets

The first guests were Merry Rankin, Director of Sustainability for Iowa State University and Sustainability Coordinator for the City of Ames, and Lynne Carey, the Director of the Ames Public Library. They talked about the role of the Library in sustaining a strong community.

Host Gale Seiler, brought us an interview with Pat Kearney, a teacher from Iowa who has taken to blogging to advocate for public education. His blogs now appear in the Huffington Post.

We ended with a fascinating conversation with Amanda Petefish-Schrag, an Assistant Professor of Theatre at Iowa State University and a puppeteer. She spoke about the craft of making puppets and performing with them.
