DACA and Leonessa

 

Leanne Harter Story County Outreach and Special Projects Manager, was on hand to give us news of the tree sale at McFarland Park sponsored by Alliant Energy's Operation ReLeaf at Easat Peterson Park, Thursday, October 19, 4:30 p.m.

Our main story was about DACA – Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. We have a couple of “Dreamers” to tell their stories. Rick Exner, local activist for immigrant rights, told us about Several events to inform people about proposed changes in the law.  These are:

Jennifer Reese, founder of Leonessa LLC, a Green Business Incubator in Story City spoke with reporter Pat Schlarbaum about the concept and the buildings on Broad Street.
