Blonde Brownies

2-2/3 cups sifted flour
2-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup butter (or other shortening - melted and cooled
2-1/4 cups brown sugar
3 eggs
1 cup chopped nuts
1 package chocolate chips

Oven - 350 degrees
Beat together butter and brown sugar
Beat in eggs one at a time. Stir in flour, salt and baking powder, then nuts and chocolate
Pour into greased, 15 x 10 inch cake pan
Bake 25 to 30 minutes. Check center to make sure brownies are done
Cool on rack


Recipe from Lonna’s sister-in-law Jane. Jane says that she got the recipe from her mom, Beth Lynch, and that the whole family in Arkansas all grew up eating blonde brownies.
