The Tom and Doug Show

Tom and Doug tell of their loves, losses, failures and delusions of success in a musical joyride.

Music Program Overview

Community Radio is a little different from other types of radio. The station’s vision for our community focuses on local music, news reporting, and information that enhances our cultural heritage. KHOI is volunteer driven. The live programming heard on KHOI is produced by local volunteers who are not paid or required to have previous experience in radio. The voices behind the microphones are often your neighbors or friends who have offered their love for music, the arts, and talents for story telling as a gift to you the listener. Even your voice could be heard, by proposing a program.

Elwynn Taylor & the Weather

Elwynn Taylor, a respected and renowned ISU extension climatologist, and former weather talk-show-host on WOI-AM public radio, delivers five-minute daily weather outlooks on KHOI at 7:55 AM, 12:55 PM and 7:55 PM.

For more than two decades, Elwynn has investigated how earth, wind, sun, and humidity interact to affect everything from the price of corn to the probability of a sunny vacation in Tahiti. More than a meteorologist, Elwynn studies weather trends such as El Niño and La Niña, and has even started his own weather indicator, the Reiman Index.
