KHOI Pledge Drive

Pledge Drive Set for Friday, June 28

Get ready for a day of fun, fundraising and community fellowship.  KHOI is planning their second live, on-air pledge drive for Friday, June 28.  The pledge drive will begin at 7 am with hosts Don Wirth and Ursula Ruedenberg kicking off the day-long campaign.  Each successive hour will be hosted by KHOI on-air personalities, volunteers and guests.  Expected highlights include live music and a specially created half-hour comedy show from Tom & Doug show hosts Tom & Doug

The theme of this pledge drive and community party is 'The Last Waltz'.  Our backroom has been cleared in anticipation of the beginning of the construction of new, sound-proof broadcast and recording facilities.  During pledge drive party, which will be held from 6 to 9 pm, everyone is invited to mingle throughout the station, including the backroom.  It will be the last time people will see it as it is before construction.

The public is invited to attend the party.  We will have refreshments, food and entertainment.  You are welcome to bring something to share (not alcohol, please).

Another part of the evening will consist of the honoring of those brave men and women who came to be known as  'the flash drive crew'.  These volunteers endured all manner of weather and ungodly hours to make sure the flash drive made it to the tower near Story City so that the show might go on - literally!  To those who have soldiered on this path - we salute you!

ON-AIR PLEDGE DRIVE A SUCCESS

KHOI Community Radio thanks all of the individuals and local businesses that helped make the station’s first-ever on-air pledge drive a success.

Nearing the Goal

The inaugural pledge drive took place on Friday, February 15.  Spurred on by an anonymous $25,000 donation received earlier in the week from volunteers took to the airwaves and raised an additional $3,000 during the day-long pledge drive.

This brings the radio station within $7,500 of raising the total funds needed to build recording facilities in the station’s headquarters in the Pantorium building.

The KHOI Board of Directors would like to thank the many local businesses that donated items for use as donor premiums during the pledge drive.  A list of these contributors appears on the pledge drive page of this website.

A number of the pledge drive premiums are still available for people who would like to donate. A list of remaining gifts (and donation levels) can be found on the pledge drive page.

Two Campaigns:  Many ways to continue giving

KHOI currently has two funding objectives.  One is to raise the additional $7,500 to build the studio.

The second goal is to fund our day-to-day operations. This campaign is called ‘500 Families’ because it was determined by our Board of Directors that it would take 500 families, donating $250 each to cover an entire year’s operating budget.

As you may know, KHOI is a non-profit, all-volunteer community radio station, funded entirely by listeners like you.  Whether it’s a single donation or an on-going monthly gift; however you choose to donate and in whatever amount,  your contribution will be greatly appreciated and you will become a ‘KHOI Family’.

For either of these current campaigns, you can demonstrate your financial support for KHOI radio  through our website (PaylPal, credit or debit cards), by pressing the ‘DONATE’ button. Giving possibilities include both one-time donations and on-going monthly gifts.

You are also welcome to drop into the station at 410 Douglas Avenue in Ames any time from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the weekdays.  We are always happy to see you and take you on a tour of the facilities.
