KHOI Community Radio and The Main Street Cultural District would like to invite you to be apart of our boombox Star Spangled Band in the 4th of July parade with KHOI! We are planing a contingent for the 4th of July parade to showcase the beauty and diversity in our community, and we would like to invite YOU to join the Star Spangled Band in the parade!
We need volunteers to help with:
- Creating colorful banners to showcase ideas of community, diversity and unity
- Participate in a banner making workshop on June 29th from 5-10pm. We will need volunteers to manage the workshop and make banners. It will be held at 410 Douglas Ave in Ames. Refreshments and supplies will be provided; you're welcome to bring your own.
- Dancers, musicians, drummers and ANYONE interested in actively participating in the 4th of July parade. A 30 minute walk with a party at KHOI afterwards. Showcase your culture and talent!
- Boombox carriers! People with boomboxes or some sort of technology that amplifies sound to be used during the 4th of July parade.
