Local Talk host Susan Franzen teams up with Lonna Nachtigal of KHOI’s DonnaLonna Kitchen show for KHOI's Thanksgiving Special. It starts with a trip to farms of the past with Virtus Brockman, who has farmed in Marshall County for 68 years, and Donna Drake Nall, who grew up on a farm near Sheldahl in Polk County. Pastor Dennis Sandmann is on hand to describe the Community Thanksgiving Service in the Roland Community Center where the joint choir from Salem and Bergen will sing at 7:00 PM on Thanksgiving Eve. The rest of the program ranges from cook stoves to recipes, with a serious story of thanks and a curmudgeonly fantasy of the first Thanksgiving by Calvin Trillin.
