Al Biela, the founder of Ames Music Studios and the Iowa School of Rock, talks about the Iowa School of Jazz with program hosts Paul Hertz and Iowa School of Jazz. Al and student musicians Julie-Michelle Manohar, Noah Heinrich and Dominik McDonald perform “Take Five” by Paul Desmond, “Spain” by Chick Corea, and “Black Crow” by Joni Mitchell in KHOI’s storefront area. This is KHOI’s first live broadcast of music from our storefront. The Iowa School of Jazz and Iowa School of Rock will perform at Zeke’s, 3329 Lincoln Way, on Friday, July 10 and Saturday, July 11 at 7:30 PM.
