Our program today began with a discussion with Jesse Randall, ISU Extension Forestry Specialist about fall color and a report from Pat Schlarbaum about the origin of the term "Indian Summer."
Then we ventured into the country with Marvin and Kay Scott to discover the pioneer Bloomington Cemetery and the site of the ghost town of Bloomington with its lost school.
Amy Yoacum told us about the work of the Story County Conservation Center in preserving information about pioneer cemeteries and Kassie Harrell told us about the work of a 1970's Nevada Girl Scout troop in restoring the cemetery.
For a lighthearted "Tuning in to Agriculture" we visited with Deanna Black, Director of Fun at Center Grove Orchard.
