Homeless, Greatest Generation, Roaring 20’s, Perfect Rendezvous

Leanne Harter started the show with the monthly Story County Report. Then we visited Huxley where Katie Kinrade gave us a preview of Prairie Fest "The Roaring Twenties" coming up August 27, 28. Al Womble returned for a heartwarming update on the community efforts made to move the evicted tenants from the Davenport Crestwood Apartments.  On a historical note, Michael Luick-Thrams came in with a preview of his current BUSeum tour "Hidden and Forbidden No More: Prequils to the "Greatest Generation" -- the turbulent period of American History between World War I and World War II with the Pandemic of 1920, activities of the Ku Klux Klan in the north, uprisings  when the unemployed rose up and were suppressed, and the "Cow Wars." We ended with a conversation with John Cleas,  author of the  "The Perfect Rendezvous" , which will have its World Premiere at the Ankeny Community Theatre on August 27, 28, and 29.
