Mike King, member of the Two Rivers Story Spinners, one of the co-sponsors with Raising Readers, announced an upcoming event Spring Into Storytelling on April 24 in North Grand Mall. Storytelling workshops will be held at 1PM for Ages 5 to 11 and 12 to adult. A Storytelling concert is scheduled for 2PM. More information can be found at tinyurl.com|tell-a-story.
Susan Gwiasda, Public Relations Officer with the City of Ames included Fire Chief, Rich Higgins. There is a short public ceremony at 2PM on Monday, April 18 to celebrate the addition of a new fire apparatus! This custom-made $1.16 million machine will help in high-rise rescues and allow elevated water streams. A time-honored tradition will include firekeepers pushing the new ladder truck into the firehouse. Parking will be limited along the frontage road.
