Local Talk for Friday, October 14, 2022 featured the Dennis Hart news summary from the Ames Tribune.

Dean Sampson discussed upcoming Alzheimers Walk scheduled for Saturday, October 15 at CPIMI building at the ISU Research Park.  Seventy-seven teams are registered and have raised $71,000 to date for Alzheimer research.  Mr. Sampson has walked in all 13 Story County communities.  

Merry Rankin Sustainability Director for the City of Ames invited Mark Ludwig with ISU Supply to share information about their very important work.  Repurposing ISU equipment between departments and the public occurs each week at 925 Airport Rd. Ames, IA.  “It’s always something different at the ISU Surplus Sale.”  And last year 1.936 million pounds was diverted from the solid waste disposal.  

Joshua Herbert (Libertarian Party) is running for election to the Iowa House of Representatives to represent District 51. Representative Dave Deyoe currently occupies the seat.  Herbert is on the ballot in the general election on November 8, 2022.  District 51 covers mostly Story and Marshall, with a little slice of southern Hardin Counties. 

  Music was provided by Botafogo in recognition to ongoing Hispanic Heritage Month until October 15.
