Celebrating the 4th

Kay Puttock speaks with Mark Kubik, executive director of Center for Creative Justice, a pioneering independent probation agency that rehabilitates nonviolent offenders rather than locking them up. Then, we share some voices from Ames Sesquicentennial Celebration: three youth -- Remington and Chastity Wilson and Wyatt Merceal-McBroom -- performing a readers' theater about Ames area legends, Jack Trice and Kate Shelley. Diana Schmidt of Raising Readers of Story County organized the event. Finally, Pat Schlarbaum brings us news on our national symbol from Decorah, Iowa: the eagle known born on Bob Anderson's Eagle Cam and known as D-1 has been summering in the Arctic Circle!
