Features a poetry reading and reminiscences by the famous American poet and Ames native Ted Kooser, who was born in Ames, Iowa in 1939, and who has served two terms as the poet laureate of the United States.
This reading took place in the Octagon, in downtown Ames on October 19, 2014, and it features poems and memories from Ted Kooser's early years in Ames. In the second half of the broadcast, Mr. Kooser answers questions from the audience about his creative process, his early attempts at poetry, and many other topics.
