Drug Drop-Off

Youth & Shelter Services, the Ames Police Department and Walgreens give Ames residents the opportunity to dispose of their old, unneeded and expired medications.

Downtown Gives Back

Donate stuffed animals, books and blankets for children at participating Main Street businesses. This event is part of the Main Street Cultural district's annual Snow Magic festivities.

Festival of Trees

The Festival of Trees is part of the Main Street Cultural District's annual Snow Magic festivities. It takes place at the Octagon Center for the Arts.

Snow Ball Drop

Representatives of the Main Street Cultural District invite you to catch "snowballs" (quotes reproduced literatim) that somehow relate to prizes and product discounts. The "snowballs" will be thrown at Tom Evans Park on Main Street in Ames. This event is part of the district's annual Snow Magic festivities.

Holiday Open House Weekend

As part of their yearly Snow Magic event, representatives of the Main Street Cultural District invite you to start your Christmas shopping at businesses on and around Main Street. On Sunday, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m, you can ride trolleys, visit Santa, and participate in various holiday-related activities in local stores.

Lorie Line & Her Fab Five: The 2012 Holiday Extravaganza

Lorie Line & Her Fab Five perform "Immanuel" in Stephens Auditorium, which is on the grounds of the Iowa State Center. A press release from the center's staff describes the show as "heavenly." It will be Ms. Line's 19th performance in Stephens Auditorium.
