Who Is DonnaLonna Kitchen?Listen to the DonnaLonna Kitchen live - Tuesdays at noon (repeated Tuesday at 7:00 PM) on KHOI 89.1 MHz. Chef Donna Prizgintas and farmer, artist Lonna Nachtigal explore the local food scene with lively discussion and good humor. DLK talks about food, farming, recipes, advice, opinions and more. Local and nationally known guests join Donna and Lonna around the kitchen table to explore the environment, sustainability, nutrition, good taste and what's cooking in Central Iowa.
The DonnaLonna Kitchen show has received recognition for two programs: (The Carrot King in 2014 and Year of the Soil in 2015) from the World Association of Community Broadcasters in collaboration with The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.

The program starts with an interview about learning Arabic in Ames High School, as six seniors graduate with four years of Arabic study under their belts. We talk with a graduating senior Ania Chamberlin and her teacher Daniel Klass.

Cream butter and sugar. Beat until fluffy. Stir in flour.
Spread in the bottom of an 8 x 8 pan. Bake at 375 degrees F. for 25 minutes.
Take out of the oven and cool slightly.

A training session at the Ames Library on Bird Dogging - how to prepare and ask tough questions of candidates, regardless of their political party - was given by a group called “Governing Under the Influence,” sponsored by the American Friends Service Committee.
